'Get It Goin Lads We Love A Brawl' – Conor McGregor, Aljamain Sterling & Others React After Controversial End To Johnny Walker vs. Magomed Ankalaev Almost Leads To Brawl

The UFC 294 card already had its fair share of fouls, controversies, and bizarre circumstances leading up to the big three fights.

Unfortunately, things went up another notch in the high-stakes light heavyweight match-up between Johnny Walker and Magomed Ankalaev.

In the opening round, Walker was hit with an illegal knee, causing a break in the action, which was starting to feel like Groundhog Day at this point in the event.

Bizarrely, the doctor who came into the Octagon gave the nod to referee Dan Movahedi to wave the fight off after a brief exchange with Walker.

With Walker clearly confused by the fight being stopped, he tried to continue, as did Ankalaev, with security, their teams, and even Dana White himself breaking up the scene.

Ankalaev vs. Walker Descends Into Confusing Mess Following Doctor Stoppage And No Contest Verdict

Upon review, there are still a lot of questions that need to be answered regarding the stoppage of this fight.

In the doctor’s defense, Walker was clearly confused by his questions following the knee that landed with some impact.

At the same time, the doctor made the decision not to allow Walker to continue after questioning him without giving him a full five minutes to recover.

The same doctor was also heavily criticized earlier in the night for his conduct following Victor Henry’s recovery period after a groin strike.

The MMA community’s reaction showed the confusing and chaotic nature of the ending of this fight and the scenes that unfolded afterward.
