'Stupid POS' – MMA World Blasts Doctor After He Questions UFC 294 Fighter's Reaction To Groin Shot

A bantamweight matchup between Javid Basharat and Victor Henry was abruptly stopped after Henry was the victim of an incidental groin shot at UFC 294.

Basharat and Henry helped reel in the action at UFC 294 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi. It was a highly anticipated bantamweight matchup featuring two of the most exciting prospects in the division.

After a back-and-forth Round 1, Basharat landed a kick to Henry’s groin that appeared to land just underneath Henry’s protective cup. Henry collapsed to the canvas in intense pain after the incident and the fight was eventually called off.

All fighters are allowed up to five minutes to recover from groin shots. During the five-minute recovery period, the Octagon doctor came to Henry’s side, and appeared to dismiss Henry’s pain in a bizarre back-and-forth.

It didn’t take long for the MMA community to come to Henry’s defense and rip the Octagon-side doctor’s conduct.

The fight was officially ruled a no-contest. It’s uncertain if the UFC will attempt to eventually re-book Basharat vs. Henry after the incident.

Basharat stays unbeaten (officially) in his professional career after 14 consecutive wins. He had won three consecutive fights entering UFC 294 after earning a shot in the promotion following an impressive performance on Dana White’s Contender Series.

Henry was looking to begin a UFC win streak after a split decision win over Tony Gravely back in March. He defeated Raoni Barcelos in his promotional debut at UFC 270 last year.

UFC 294 is headlined by a lightweight title rematch between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski.
