Tim Elliott Accuses Muhammad Mokaev Of UFC 294 Weight Miss Cover-Up: 'They Gifted It To You!'

UFC flyweight veteran Tim Elliott thinks something was amiss when his opponent for this weekend’s pay-per-view weighed in on Friday.

The mixed martial arts leader is currently back in Abu Dhabi, this time for the UFC 294 numbered event. The card features one championship contest, a potential title eliminator at middleweight, and a host of other notable names.

Among the ranked contenders set to make the walk to the Octagon inside the Etihad Arena is Elliott, an 11-year promotional vet who sits at #10 in the rankings. On the back of two consecutive wins, the 36-year-old will next look to stall the rise of Muhammad Mokaev.

In the lead-up to Saturday’s contest, Elliott has frequently gone back and forth with the highly touted Dagestani-born Brit on social media. And his latest post directed at “The Punisher” has seen him level a serious accusation…

Elliott Insists Mokaev ‘Didn’t Make Weight’

As is customary for any event, the fighters slated to enter the Octagon at UFC 294 took to the scale on Friday morning to meet their divisional limits.

Elliott and Mokaev advanced with their purses unscathed, with the weight of both being called at 126 pounds. The former, however, was not satisfied with the verdict for his opponent, who appeared visibly surprised at the weight.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), the Kansas native accused Mokaev of being “gifted” a pass despite being overweight.

“@muhammadmokaev you know your ass didn’t make weight, they gifted it to you,” Elliott wrote. “What was your weight on the digital scales before stepping on the official?”

“Yeah they were all standing around worried when he got off the digitals, then he got the curtain and magically made it on the official scale.”

“No excuses I’m just saying he didn’t make weight”

“I was 126 naked on the digitals and 126 flat on the official in my underwear, I’m calling bullshit”

Mokaev was quick to hit back, insisting that nothing was amiss with his successful weigh-in.

“What is this guy talking about making excuses already! Made 126.0 without the boxers,” Mokaev wrote. “Come to my room 4097 we can weigh in together, welcome anytime old man”

Many have since discussed the use of traditional scales, with some calling on digital scales to be unanimously used instead for the sake of accuracy.
